By Jo Mixon, Mayor of Angel Fire

Summer is in full swing and the weather is perfect for being outdoors. Please be mindful to save water, to check out local fire restrictions and know which parts of the forests are still closed to visitors.

This has been an unusual beginning to 2022, as we dealt up close and personal with a huge wildfire for about 4 months. Events were once again canceled or postponed. Many of our residents are still somewhat shell shocked, so please remember to be kind to one another.

Bring your patience and be prepared for road closures and detours at several places throughout Angel Fire and in the canyons surrounding us. We have a very short window of time to do road and infrastructure repairs, therefore it has to happen when many of our guests are in town.

I know it's an inconvenience, but it is very necessary.

There are many fun events lined up in August. Residents and guests, make plans to attend all you can and look forward to an enjoyable summer!

Please conserve water as much as possible.

Two of our three wells are down due to electrical issues caused by a lightning strike on Saturday, July, 23rd. Kit Carson is working on repairing one of our wells. The second well will be repaired as soon as equipment is received. Thank you for your patience,

your understanding & please CONSERVE WATER!
